Dr Abdirahman Abdullahi Ali
Mayor of Bosaso
Dr. Abdirahman Abdullahi Ali is the democratically elected Mayor of Bosaso, Puntland’s commercial capital and a major port city in northeastern Somalia. He was elected through a democratic election process in July 2025 and is widely recognized for his leadership, integrity, and strong commitment to public service.
As mayor, Dr. Abdirahman is focused on urban development, improving essential municipal services—including access to affordable and reliable electricity—and strengthening Bosaso’s role as a regional hub for trade, education, and infrastructure development.
As the democratically chosen leader of one of Somalia’s most strategic and economically important cities, Dr. Abdirahman Abdullahi Ali holds a position of national and regional significance, playing a key role in advancing local governance, economic growth, and sustainable development.
