About Bosaso

Bosaso historically known as Bender Qasim is a city in the northeastern Bari province Somalia. It is the seat of the Bosaso District. Located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden, the municipality serves as the region’s commercial capital and is a major seaport within the autonomous Puntland state.  

The city has a diverse economy centre on education, government, banking, tourism, aviation, food, clothes, logistics, steel, energy, health care, hospitality, retail and technology. The area’s many colleges and universities make it a regional hub of higher education, including law, medicine, engineering, business and entrepreneurship.

Vision

The vision of the City of Bosaso is to become “The Centre of Urban Excellence in Bosaso and to fight poverty, provide affordable services, facilitate a people-driven economy, build sustainable communities, protect and preserve the environment, and strengthen a culture of performance and public participation.

Mission

To deliver quality services to the city of bosaso and serve to improve their Quality of social economic status, specifically advocate for IDPS and refugees that live with bosaso host community. To “Build and Sustain a City of Character, Vibrant Economy and Diversity through strong Partnerships with Stakeholders to provide responsive, rapid and effective Urban Development.

Objectives

To provide suitable services for the sanitation by collecting daily solid and liquid garbage to get healthy environment.
To develop and maintain the roads for the city planning process.
To collect and manage the revenue receive from the community different activities.
To advocate for the basic minimum needs for bosaso community either the state level, LNGO’s and INGO’s both the travel/tarmac.
To collaborate the overall security measures with the state level policy and other forces.
Regularly mobilize and raising awareness for the different level of the bosaso community to settle the outstanding issue.
